Mt. Olivet Lions Honor Students

Mt. Olivet - For several years the Mt. Olivet Lions Club has worked on youth projects in partnership with Our Lady of Peace School, Sherrard Elementary School, and Sherrard Junior High School. Students have participated in essay contests, Peace Poster contests, the QUEST Program, Flag Day Programs and annual eye screenings.

Recently, Student of the Semester recognition was given to eight grade students at both Our Lady of Peace School and Sherrard Junior High School.

Receiving Student of the Semester recognition from Our Lady of Peace School was: Briana Breault, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Breault, and Paul "PJ" Ratcliffe, son of Kathy and Randy Ratcliffe. Recipients from Sherrard Junior High School are: Kelsey Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Allen, and Daryn Vucelik, daughter of Rhonda Wade.

"We are very pleased to be in partnership with our hilltop schools, and we take great pride in acknowledging the achievements of our youth," Lion Phyllis Amrhein, project chariperson, commented.
